    Hi guys, need some advice.

I have a 301 redirect from an old site to my new one.

I have varified the new site in webmaster tools and the 301 redirect is in place.

Google is asking me to varify the old site, but I cannot do this as it states

Verification failed. Your verification file redirects to a disallowed location.

    any ideas?

Remove the redirect (from htaccess, index.php etc) and verify the site, once verified add the redirect again.

I've noticed that Google keeps requesting the varification after a few weeks or months for the site. Anyone know fo an easy way to sort this?

Cant seem to add a txt field to the dns so thats out of the question
