Google Webmaster Tools www vs non www problem .Pls help

Hey all.I have a problem with my new site.I try to set prefered as non www to google webmaster tools but it shows:
" Part of the process of setting a preferred domain is to verify that you own http://mysite.com/. Please verify http://mysite.com/."
www and non www are verified , i removed and added again but it shows the same.Searched in google but could find a solution.Any advice ?
p.s i use https for this site.

You need to add http://mysite.com/ as a new site to the same GWT account and verify it. Once you verify ownership of both versions you'll be able to set the preferred domain.
 
GWT should give you a snippet of code that you need to stick in the <head> of your site. Either that, or an .html file that you must upload to the root directory of your site.
