Hello everyone,

Many of you will be making joke with me because of this question, but please help me and answer me, it is very imporant to me. I have created brand new .com domain yesterday and website just have new theme and nothing has changed on it. Today I connected (added) my website to Google Webmaster Tools and uploaded HTML file via FTP to verify my website. 2 minutes later, I have deleted that HTML file and deleted my site from Google Webmaster Tools. The problem is that I don't want Google to crawl my site since it is not finished (it will be in 4-5 days). I heard that if Google visit a new site, crawl and if no content, they can "ignore" it for next few months. Should I be afraid of that scenario?

When my site will be finished for 4-5 days, I will upload HTML file again and verify my site to Google Webmaster Tools. I just don't want Google to crawl it until then.
Please help.

upload a robots.txt blocking Googlebot... when you are ready remove the entry... it may take Google a couple weeks to crawl again when you are ready but it wont be months...

If you use wordpress, there is an option to block search engines from crawling till your site is ready. With that said however, why did you rush going on webmaster tools when your site wasnt ready?

I would not worry about it. Once/as you start updating your site just ping Google to revisit it to see the changes. If it's a wordpress site, WP will automatically do the pinging for you.

Well, I just wanted to connect it to Google Webmaster Tools in order to change Geotargeting, but didn't think that Google may crawl it. I will update HTML file and verify site within few days, and I hope there will be no problems with crawling. Because when I verify it on Google Webmaster Tools, I want Google to crawl it as fast as possible.

Yes, I am using WordPress. Hope there will be no problems with that mistake i made :/

Thank you guys

It's not even a mistake. I do that all the time, add sites before they are completed and have never had any problems.

But adding site to Google Webmaster Tools and verifying is like official: you give signal to Google that your site is finished and ready to crawl, right?

And the problem is that my site is brand new (even duplicated content because it contains "hello world" which every site has) and if google crawl it, it may be like: "hey, this site is new, let's not visit it next few months"
