Google Webmaster Tools - Search Quieries Innacurate?

Hey everyone - is Google Webmaster Tools accurate at all when it comes to search queries? It's telling me that I rank for impossibly hard keywords that I'm not even targeting. Like, single word keywords. (My site is 1.5 months old)

Anytime I do a manual search for any keyword that I'm supposedly ranking on, I see nothing.

Any idea what's going on?

Hmm try google adword planner.

Bro, it happens. I mean sometime your website rank for keywords that have extreme competition and low searches. The same thing happening with one of my health site. The site is ranking for difficult keywords without too many backlinks and is not ranking for easy keywords even after few back links. I am facing the same, in youtube too.

Your site has temporarily ranked for that keyword for a short period of time. It means that keyword has good potential to rank for your site.

Yeah - I'm not quite sure how to interpret it. I should probably just chill because my site is young.

Results are displayed differently depending on a few factors, two of which is your location and the location of the searcher. For example, if you have a website with a ccTLD in France ranking for (insert a difficult keyword), you may not rank well for this keyword on a global scale, although if a searcher from France searches for (insert difficult keyword), there's a chance that your website may appear in the SERPs much higher than it would have for a user in the United States.

There's also a chance that your website rankings are fluctuating due to your site and pages being new. This is normal since Google doesn't have much information on your website yet and the "permanent" rankings for your website will be determined after Google gathers more information on your website.

You might have somehow ranked an image high in Google Images for a competitive keyword - it happens sometimes and I think Google WMT shows data for every form of search whether that's normal, images, local, whatever.

Yeah, images show up as search results as well. I bet that's your case there.
