Google is the biggest... The OG... The Titan!
But what Microsoft did... My opinion is that thay can hurt Google.
SEO will be changed for sure. That chat that point to the websites will change the game.

I've play with Edge today and it is quite good (and much faster :) ).

What is your opinion?

Its going to be better for the average search user but for web developers marketers, its going to be harder to get people on their site(s) to earn money..

Could be wrong just my opinion.

Build something that doesnt rely on search engines!!

That citations in bing chat are opportunities. Maybe it will be easier

can't lie, i am using Microsoft edge over Google chrome these days because it uses less of my ram

MS building blocks are totally different to Googles
Both overlap in marketshares in plenty of areas but at the focus for both are totally different.

For example, Bing is more of a side project of MS while it's Google's baby.
Meanwhile, Windows is MS's baby while Google dabbles in chromebook to take some of that marketshare.

To both sides, it's not about domination in both, it's about dipping their toes enough in all markets that the competitors are about.
Enough for them to not hold a complete monoply over it.

Why do you think MS & Google over the decades continuously tried to enter the phone market?
Despite not holding any major marketshare (since it's dominated by Apple vs Shitsumg)
It's because it's where $$$ is spent by everyone, some households yearly.
The same applies to all their other products.

Both are great in their own right, and both are complete terrible companies in their own right too.
If 1 of the two disappeared, that gap wouldn't be easily filled without alot of investment and adjustments by both the company and users.

Lastly Chrome vs Edge
I would take Edge over Chrome anyday, but Edge is built from chrome's foundation so if you are hating chrome, you are hating google more than the actual browser really. :)
