Google uses user behavior for ranking

This explains why the May update broke everything.

The user behavior changed drastically during the pandemic.

So Google was spying on everyone for ranking signals, like which shops you walked into, then suddenly all those signals died out and were sent from homes instead. Their search broken down completely then.

It all makes sense now...

I love these Congress hearings, especially those of Google and Amazon. Google might lie to us all day long with no repercussions, but they can't do that to Congress and Anti-Trust. So, you might discover a few hidden gems in those hearings and the documents the committee has collected. Especially to confirm SEO information that was classified as "myth" so far because Google denied it. I suggest everyone watch the hearings.

I recently got an Xiaomi phone since Samsung decided to become an Apple bitch...once in a while a microfone icon pops in the notification bar for a second or two and it got me thinking.....I know that G is listening but I wanted to know Xiaomi opinion about this.

So I sent them an email with a screen recordind and fucking Xiaomi said It's a normal thing since G wants to serve personalized Ads and you can fucking disable it and pointed me to the Android fucking TOS.

If this is not fucked up I don't know what is.

Like the excerpts in the OP in this thread. They tell SEOs the exact opposite of what's being confirmed right now.

We all knew they used these signals for ranking. Google has access to way too much data and a lot of smart, expensive (!!!) talent. Just look at Google salaries, do people really believe that they don't want to get their money's worth and use every drop of data. There is no question that they use everything, whatever they have access to, to feed the beast.

The pandemic is a once in a 100 years event. It gave everyone a glimpse into how several large companies work.

In Google's case, their spying took a hit because everyone changed habits. It messed with the entire ranking algorithm.

LOL the private messages I get

That would explain the sudden domination by AMAZON in SERPS. Everyone was going to amazon...

They do the same for the Android apps in the Play Store, so I am sure they are also doing it on websites. Not sure how they are going to count the clicks, if people don't have Analytics, Adsense or other Google services on their website. But for 100% they are checking the bounce rate, retention etc.

I mean lets be clear:

Retention is a ranking factor on YouTube
Retention is a ranking factor on the Play Store

it surely is also on Google Search.

What does it mean? Put all the external links and buttons to it (also CPA buttons which are external) on the bottom of your website. If it is on the top people will click on your website, scroll for a second and directly click on the external link they were looking for.

There’s a thread in the marketplace offering a serp CTR service and from what I’ve seen so far it seems to work.
