Some clients' sites with large gains from December received slight traffic hits on 1/8, but nothing significant since then.
In my niche, December update was a good thing (I actually showed somebody). Some shitty sites were moved down.
Basically in a couple of years having an SEO ecom site will be the most profitable. Content SEO won't be as powerful just because people would rather stay on Google, and all the content will be scraped and put in the SERPs anyway...
They are offering sharing of google search results directly to Facebook and twitter. SEO might use that feature in various ways to directly spam google search URL'sThere's also a new type of featured snippet which could be the reason behind this.

Perhaps we will see it come into law that these "snippets" that actually steal the critical information from other websites is a violation of copyright and could expose google to legal action if they don't stop.We give them permission to steal from us with our schema don't forget. Unless people all decide to start denying Google, there's not much we can do about it :\
