Google Update Algorithm on June 25, Got hit?

Based from http://mozcast.com/ there was a big algo change and also http://moz.com/blog/early-look-at-googles-june-25-algo-update has a post on this update.
It seems it affected Partial match domains.

And also the funny thing if you check mozcast.com > Metrics > Daily Big 10
Today's "Big 10" Domains:


  1. en.wikipedia.org
  2. http://www.amazon.com
  3. http://www.youtube.com
  4. http://www.facebook.com
  5. http://www.ebay.com
  6. http://www.yelp.com
  7. http://www.walmart.com
  8. http://www.webmd.com
  9. popular.ebay.com
  10. http://www.target.com
These big 10 domains have been rising up the rankings and makes me wonder that if google keeps putting these 10 sites on the first page then why would people use Google anymore, Why not just bookmark the 10 sites and go do your search there since Google would put these guys in the first page results anyway.

But on a sidenote my new sites didn't get affected "YET" and not sure if it really didn't get affected since I know that the dataservers takes time to update the results

Interesting. Today felt like the most stable day ever for me. All my keywords are frozen in place. Maybe I will just have to wait till tomorrow to see the changes. Thanks for the heads up!
 
all of these updates just confirm my move to totally not rely on google for traffic...any traffic i get from google is just a bonus...

i'm not an affiliate marketer so this helps my case for believing this, but the best thing anyone can do is to differentiate the channels they use to make money...i know this is easier said then done...

i currently make sales through the following channels, ranked from most profitable to least: 1) iTunes app store 2) android play 3) windows 8 marketplace 4) mac app store 5) amazon 6) google organic search 7) google PPC 8) direct traffic 9) ebay and 10) social referral traffic (twitter/facebook)...

given this diversification, if any of these channels are taken away from me or minimized, the overall effect on my bottom line is not going to rip my heart out...
 
Google is very annoying now. Everything must be a big company to be in first page. No need google anymore. Just bookmark ebay or amazon, and wikipedia.

True. End users are noticing too, after the recent spy scandals other alternative engines had their best month yet.

Who the hell needs 5 ebay links and two amazon links on search results? I can go there direct if I wanted amazon or ebay.
 
What go0gle wants? a Huge site with more than 1000k pages and all pages has to be quality content which people talk about most?!!! in that case, small companies and sites will be on 10+ page on Go0gle!

This will surely push marketers not to use Go0gle as their primary source of traffic/business!

And also WE (marketers) are the one who made go0gle that big!! we promoted Go0gle and that's why they dominate!

I got big hit on head since 16,Jun ...lost all KW and traffic down of 80 %
 
I definitely agree on you with this one. Everyone know Big ecommerce sites already they go to Google because they need more information on a product and not an Amazon/Ebay link on the first page.

The same with wikipedia and webmd when I search for something I don't want an article about the definition of the thing I am looking for! but about results on where else I can buy it or get related information

My keywords are frozen for 3 weeks now in Google.NL like kopli says, "normal" website's are out and big brand website's are in. End of google, people will just bookmark the website's.

What is see these days is a lot of big company names in top 10

You are 100% right...

What maybe will happen is when people look for other site, they will go to search results on 2th page. So target will be now a ranking in google on spot 11 till 20 :-)
 
I see Google Update on June 25. I see 5 blackhat in page 1 has disappeared on local search or google us
 
Dont worry boys n girls, still can rank, still can rank, hahaha. Forget about payday loan saga already?
 
Just wondered why my traffic dropped about 10% ....
 
Keep throwing in the towel. Make it easier for other people with more motivation to rank. I've always loved getting SERP boosts because people end up giving up.
 
Been sitting steady for a while now. Bounced around like crazy a couple of weeks ago though - serious amounts. Hopefully not again as it was one hell of a rollercoaster.
