Google Update Again..?

A rock solid #1 ranking EMD (the name of my legitimate business) has fallen to #2

She has fallen prey to department/megastore eCommerce sites

White hat site, the bees knees, corporate type jobby with an eCommerce directory.

This is complete and utter BS.

My sites climbed high in serps once, but then they get back to low. Shitty update for me.
 
This isn't the first time I've hypothesised this, but I'm seeing sites with a very small backlink profile (10-20 unique domains) outrank previously highly SEOed sites that were ranking well. In my niche, the top players all had at least 100+ unique domains in their backlink portfolio. Now the top players have 10-20. The swap is totally crazy.
 
Ya I hope it's not done because my sites are still at the bottom. I've gotta think they did this to try to get SAPE people to take their links off ... hopefully ... trying to call our bluff
 
I want to add something here.

One of my site was penalised on march 6th Update. My site went form #4 to no where to be found.

After approx 1 week, I figured out that I posted some sidewidth links using automaticbacklinks.com previously.

Once I removed them, my site was back to it's original position within 24 hrs. The last update might have to do something with sidewidth links.

Not really, Last update was about Panda (contents) on site factors.

My site hit on 6th march, and i don't have any low quality link and very few (25 links) all are very high quality and build slow.

But my site hit, and i found have insite duplicate paragraphs and few exact same (that my writer did or send duplicate)
 
1 of my sites returned for one major keyword a little higher after disappearing completely. Hope the trend continues and hope it may encourage some.
 
My site which disappeared the 6th and recovered the 13th was kicked again today...
 
I'm seeing something interesting on site that took a hit on Apr 24 last year. Over the last 2 days and for about 4 days, a week or so ago, I see my site bounce into about position 22, there are currently 1000 results for the keywords. At a later time it will bounce out to about 380 or more and the number of results will drop down to 500 or so.

Could it be they are running this super penguin/panda and I appear where I would have without the penalty and then at the end I pick up the penalty again?

It's really strange for me since I had around 20 pages of 1000+ words of Big Fat content. All handwritten by native English writers.
 
I quit paying attention to *(insert new strange animal here) updates and I just focus on diversification of my sites. Google doesn't even know what they want anymore. I've seen some pretty "users come first" white hat sites being blown into the abyss and others barely hang onto the first page.

At the same time I've seen some spun "make a quick buck" sites hold their positions. Its really a guess nowadays.

I suggest to diversify your portfolio of seo'd sites. If you have put in serious time and money into your mega authority site, it might be time to start diversifying traffic sources: ppc, media buys, social media presence, etc. This way the damage to your income is only a hiccup instead of having to reinvent your business model when Google decides to pimp slap your site into a coma.
 
I was also hit on the 6th of March. All my page one rankings are not only gone, they are nowhere to be found. Combination of black-hat/white-hat strategies used for link building. The previous time this happened to me I just waited and after a month my rankings returned to almost the same positions as before. Guess I will wait and see what happens on the 6th of April?
 
I have 3 EMD , 2 affiliates 1 tons of spammy links 1 new with minimal links and 1 10 year old one with ok links . The first 2 have been bouncing around the serps for for the past 3 weeks . First page and then gone . Back and forth every few days . 1 . The other one is holding the # 4 spot and won't budge

My site that had slumped the most still hadnt recovered and finished hovering around position 25 and got no traffic. It also didnt rank there for the home page but an inner page instead. That made no sense. I spent the last 2 days building new backlinks using GSA and today my site is back at 5 and its now ranking properly for the keyword all to the home page. So I am sure as I said before this was about strength of backlinks from certain palces being lost or devalued on this update.
