Google Update Again..?

my affected websites have fully recovered to its initial position for their main keywords after 1 week. I did nothing, just wait and see them comeback slowly.

Can you specify exactly how many days, since I am having this issue for 6 days and also can please tell us if what you think it was (Google Dance)?

Thanks bro!!

I just saw a major brand - think forbes.com - disappear from #1 for a KW I disappeared from as well. Some dancing is going on. I think I will come back even higher than before. (crosses fingers) ... keep posting updates people .. things still going on ...

saw a drop in 2 of my keywords. reduced the keyword density to .5 and it gained 3 spots.

Not only have I lost AdSense revenue, but a few people I know have lost it also... big time. Doesn't matter if you're white hat with completely organic traffic or not! I wish I could make sense of what's going on, and what exactly is the algorithm penalizing and rewarding. :P

Today, majority of my sites have not seen significant hits except for one which went from #10 to #55. I won't be acting on it yet though, I'll be waiting it out a few days to see if it comes back on its own.

when google update can you tel me plz i lost my ranking

Well if you lost your rankings just wait and see if you gain them back in a few days. In the mean time the consensus seems to be to check your keyword density and duplicate content. Don't try and over optimize and if you've used a link network then good luck. Next update is in the coming days I think, though nobody is sure.

Iv seen no ranking drops whatsoever. I haven in months actually so i must be doing something right. With the exception of someone negative SEOing one of my classified ads i have running and seeing a drop there none of my built sites have seen any issues. Im not seeing anything happening right now, maybe Monday.

I have an EMD pointing to a free blog that was ranking steadily around #4 completely disappear on the 6th. It then came back at #1 about a week later, outranking my money site which has occupied #1 for years. I blast the EMD regularly with all kinds of spammy backlinks, web 2.0's, forum profiles, etc. but the money site is all organic with tons of unique content, low OBL, varied link profile from authority sites, etc. In other words, like others have said, the junk seems to be winning out over the good stuff. I don't buy that this is an algo test of some sort - G has labs in which they can do sophisticated scenario modeling for algo changes that the public never sees. I think it's far more likely that they are testing US and how we react to a perceived change, which is something they can't model in their labs. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the data they are collecting from all this results in a devastating future "Son of Panda" update.

Same here. Site is 5 years old, changed absolutely nothing since January. Just adding content as usual like I did for years.

I'll just wait and see what happens.

Mine as well.

Ok so many people with good sites have seen traffic drop off the table. I have 1 site that has also.. hopefully comes back soon.

As I saw examples of your results, so I can say - this is not a dance but a test for future update - it happens often a few days before the big update/animal/algorithm changes. we can see more next week. and we know G - nothing good for us.

Test for what? Public opinion? Google doesn't need to do live tests. They can do it privately.
Have you seen the updates they do every year? They just jumble the serps for their own benefit or to increase adwords revenue.
So a test for what? They don't do live test for public opinion.

Just an update for anyone else who is monitoring.. actually had a site hit ZERO search queries return to VERY LITTLE search queries today. Never was delisted, but dropped for every term. This is a very SMALL sign it may be coming back. We'll see what happens. Anyone else post results.

Still haven't touched the site, zero changes, adding content as usual. ( intentionally not reacting )
Results are what i was expecting, wonder how long until it hits zero lol :)

Another site that got hit (1 year old) shows the same speed of traffic decrease like the above one.

- added tons of new content fast
- removed everything which even remotely can be considered as dupe
- improved on page seo slightly, inner links + meta desc.
- resubmitted sitemap
- started light direct spamming ( pinging links also )

Basically showing clear signs of reacting to serp changes.
Traffic still dropping at the same rate, let's just give it a few more days.

Thanks for the info.

Even your traffic is down, it seems stable. Think about it this way.. so you have an idea what to expect the next day and act accordingly. It would be nice if you could post numbers, so we know the sample size. Dropping from 10k to 5k tells a more accurate story than going from 100/day to 20/day.
If you're uncomfortable with exact numbers will you please just tell if we're talking about thousands or hundreds here on the graph posted above?

I'm yet to see the bottom of the pit.
Hit on the 6th March too, still dropping at the same rate on both sites.
These can be used as playgrounds - they depend on G for traffic so not serious money sites.

Keep posting updates everyone.

EMD's rankings went up, so that was good. Rest as stable as ever.
