Google Update Again..?

I'm fed up with G
F*ck them

Now i use other traffic sources to make cash. They killed everything more than once (for me that is) straight and whitehat things !!!

We were also hit, take a look at our rankings:

It could be high keyword density, but we built a lot of backlinks lately, maybe this was the problem? We are also no indexing some duplicate content, maybe this was the problem.

MY sites with SAPE and GSA links got hit. My link profile had a lot of diversification.

I have mentioned it here before about them testing something... and although we can't be sure, it might actually be the case here.

Actually this specific site experienced the same thing last January.

Couple of weeks before they roll panda update, this site tanked for all secondary keywords, including terms i ranked in google images, then after a week, it recovered and regain its previous rankings for every keyword including the keywords that ranked in Google images. Then after a week, they roll panda, all keywords that I'm actively targeting hit #1 and I ranked for so many keyword I don't even targeting.

March 6 came, Same site was penalized again but again not for my main keyword. Actually I still ranked #1 for main keyword and 2nd keyword that I'm actively targeting. But for my 3rd, 4th, 5th and those keywords that i suddenly ranked after panda 24 again tanked from #100+ to nowhere, these include the keywords that I ranked in Google images.

I'm actually hoping for the panda update since it might again bring back all keywords that i ranked before :)

As of now, i'm seeing slight increase of traffic but rank after march 6 is still the same.

I am hopeful that my site also get back, as i am sure, no low quality backlink, however few pages have duplicate contents, that i not aware, now fixed. but thing is my one another site have some duplicate contents and same kind of backlinks, but its ranking good.

site that hit, its very important. I hope it will back.

Had exactly the same experience as many who have posted here. On one of my newer sites (1 month old) my traffic dropped from 800+ visitors a day, to 300 on the 6th and then finally to ~10 from the 7th March onwards. (See the Google Analytics screencap below)

6th March Stats.jpg

I document every bit of linking building and optimisation, and looking through my activity in the past week I've identified some possible causes. Seems like no-one really has any idea why some sites have been affected (other than SAPE use), and others haven't, so I'm clutching at straws here.

Possible Causes

  • Meta Keyword Over-optimisation: A few days prior, I added more Meta Keywords to my website. Initially, I though the drop of traffic on the 6th was due to over-optimisation resulting from the new meta keywords; as this has happened to me before on another site (and was fixed by desaturating my onsite keywords). I have since removed the added keywords and there has been no recovery in rankings.
  • Aggressive Linking with Web 2.0 Pyramids: I have recently begun creating Web 2.0 sites and linking back to my money site with highly optimised anchor text, and then building Social Bookmarks to these Web 2.0's. I'm thinking maybe the back-links are too optimised? However, they are only High PR sites and few in number (around ~20) and I have done the same thing recently on some other sites, which haven't been affected.
  • Possible Duplicate Content: I've been reusing the same spun article multiple times in my link building efforts. I haven't done any advanced spinning, so maybe Google has picked it up as duplicate content and devalued my links?
  • Amazon Links: Been hearing some rumours about this update affecting Amazon affiliate sites. My site is partly based around promoting Amazon products, however, again - I have multiple other sites based around Amazon products that have not been affected.
This whole thing is weird as I've used pretty the exact same linking strategy on all of my other sites, and they haven't been affected. Only one website has drastically been affected (which typically, is my main source of income right now).

Hoping my site bounces back soon :(

Sprollest, with a one month old site I would be more inclined to say your honeymoon period has expired and your site now ranks where it should. Just tossing that one out there for you to consider too. :)

One of my websites was hit on the 6th of March update like many others. I did nothing to recover and waited to see what will happen after a couple of days, today while checking my stats I found the website has been recovered and regained its position in the SERPs the same as it was before being hit, looks like Google is fixing the update.

some keywords not working right now. they were on 2# or #3 but now not in top 50

Lucky you. I hope i will also get my site back. How old is your site? and how big (number of pages) , you use meta descriptions in posts/pages?

Thanks.

yup mine too has bounced back to page 1 #3 from #27. It was hit on 6th and has over 2000 indexed pages. But it's nice to see they are fixing updates. I did add interlinking to my posts on 7th though although microsite shows movements otherwise i didn't even know.

My site is new, less than one year. A very thin website, and yes I use optimized meta descriptions but of course not meta kws.

My sites didn't recover. One of my competitor who was using SAPE a lot dropped to the same positions more or less that i did. I guess SAPE is problematic today.
