Google Update Again..?

Of course.. but if a lot of webmasters in most of the SEO sites/forum is talking about it in the same time.. there is definitely something is going on.

We are not just talking about personal sites here. :)

You can also see at mozcast the spike on serps ranking in past 3 days.

There shouldn't be an update to have websites moving up and down. It's a continous process.

Was just going to say something very similar.

Almost all of my sites got trashed. Ones using SAPE, ones not using SAPE also. Wait and see.

I lost 50% of my traffic for a site right during this so-called update, happened instantly. My posts went from ranking 1 2 and 3 to getting on the 2nd page, or out of top 100.

Anyone else with similar happenings? Almost a perfect 50% drop in traffic overnight.

I need to know if this is off or on site related. Haven't had time to analyze, suspect offsite. I did notice 80% of my comment links were deleted right around this time, strangely.

Come on, let's get some of the big dogs on this one. And figure this out together.

I have noticed about 80% drop in traffic from what I was averaging, overnight too. Looking at the analytics on all my sites that were affected, it seemed to happen around the same time on all of my sites - approximately around 3am.

Same here : around 50% traffic drop. My posts went 10-20 positions down (the only positive thing is that I don't see my main competitors either) , but tags connected to my posts are still there on high positions. Any ideas why is that happening? Post over optimization?

I have a domain that had over 6500+ pages indexed. ALL traffic from it is gone AND a site:domain.com on it returns only about 600 pages now. That doesn't make any sense at all but that's google for you.

Nobody here knows the reason behind it. Stop asking if "Reason A" was the reason your website dropped in this "update". Really though. It's pointless to keep speculating what changed in this update... without any official word from the Search Quality Team/Matt Cutts, we're unlikely to know what changed.

I like reading posts like this. Honestly. I get that you're frustrated (and rightfully so), but you're sitting here shaming a company for trying to prevent people from manipulating their search engine... do you realize how silly that is?

SEO is forever changing. If you can't deal with change, you're in the wrong line of work :P

I see some changes in my content sites... definitively something going on i would say..

I got to agree that its too early to speculate or make a theory on what this update had been penalized or targeted.

But at the end of the day, all we can do is speculate. Even if google announces that there has been an update, whether its a penguin, panda or perhaps another new type of algo update, They will never reveal a detailed specifics on the update.

By combining our experience, what we have done, what we haven't done SEO wise and making an speculation whats gone wrong, then putting it to test or case studies, It is just a matter of time before we beat this "update" or whatever this is.

If anyone would like to discuss the backlinks for the sites that have dropped PM me and we can skype. There has got to be a certain thing targeted.

I just hope it's a test or something, if not that must be the shittiest update ever. My white hat "good" sites are gone form page 1/2 to nowhere, and emds and sites ranked with spam are still holding strong. But I really hope it's just a test or something like that or a big dance and in the following days/weeks we will have our rankings back or even some improvements.

Some of you started to discuss about some kind of backlinks, some even mentioned Sape. My site is without any links, because it's new, so I don't think it's about backlinks.

One of my fairly new sites had 1200-1300 visits a day, and had been going on for about 30 days, got hit exactly 10 am. yesterday (1+ UFT - 6 th. of March - Foreign Google SE). I think i will have about 50 visits a day from now on.

I haven't done any link building or any other SEO. (Except from white hat on page optimization) But the site was filled up with "low quality" pages, since 99.99% of the pages was products imported from an product sheet. My bounce rate was also 75% high.

The great SEO performance was mainly caused by the fresh/clean expired domain, that had a lot of relevant external links to it.

I also had another site - AdSense/Good quality/Aggressive affiliate setup, which got hit as well.

My site got hit as well, went from page 1 for 2 keywords to within the top 100 (but the ranking pages changed to less relevant pages, ie:ranking page for "buy blue widgets" is now my page about "types of blue widgets"). Had been pumping this site up with 2.0's that were being boosted with mass backlinks. Also noticed over half of my purchased FB likes were deleted shortly before this. Don't think that has anything to do with it but just wanted to mention it in case anybody else saw something similar.

Lol. Facebook likes (real or fake) have nothing to do with Google. I get that you saw them happen around the same time, but I assure you, they aren't related. You can also rule out any backlink-related updates, as we've seen a few people already state that they had sites affected that didn't have any backlinks built.

this update has been good for me
rankings imprved
and stayed on good position
no decrease not even 1 one on any keyword :D

Staying the same or slight increase in my page one rankings. I haven't changed what I have been doing the past 4 years and it still seems to be working, concentrating on good, quality original content for onsite and all tier 1 links.

I had a massive amount of backlinks deleted right when this happened, total drop from 30,000 to 13,000. Blog comments, high pr. Can you guys go on ahrefs.com and see if the same or similar happened?
