No, many hacks sites got a higher ranking. So not an issue with hack sites. Even entertainment sites got hit.
Entertainment sites are also blackhat mostly. Warez, pirated movies and music etc.

yeah buddy there was an update called "BERT"... Read more about it, I haven't researched about that much bcz it didn't put much effect on my sites or actually helped us to get more traffic... If anyone has any ideas about it, let us know.
makes more sense actually because on some of my sites I saw some movement, but then everything got stable (infact better than before)... One of my keywords have moved from #14 to #8, so I thought it's happening because of the BERT update since I had updated the content on that specific page.10% of search terms is the number being thrown about when BERT was rolled out in October.
BERT wasn't an update per se that affected seo, as it was relating to content. BERT = Bidirectional Encoder Representations so it looks at questions asked and replies given via content. It's something that Google have rolled out several times over the past 18 months and keep updating.
I think the Medic algo is still being tweaked, so health, medical and fitness sites are still feeling the pinch. Also the EAT ( Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness ) is still being felt too by some people.
