Hey all. I am analysing a keyword at the moment and it has over 30k exact match searches a month according to MS/Google Keyword Tool. It relates to an annual event and the Google Trends data shows that traffic peaks at 30-40 times Search Volume Index around the time of this event each year.

Now I'm happy with a spike and subsaquent drop off once a year however I don't want 0 traffic for 11 out of 12 months! I'm concerned that the huge spike once a year skews that data so much that it's unusable. Is there any way to see a break down of search traffic month-by-month, rather than an average?

Any help/advice will be gratefully received!

Cheers everyone.

Well after some more searching I can answer my own question!

For a month-by-month breakdown, use the Google Keyword Tool to search for your chosen keyword. Then use the Download option to save a spreadsheet of the search data and this will include a monthly breakdown of searches over the past 12 months.

For anyone who didn't already know this, I hope this helps :).
