Google translate instantly using camera

So I was reading some local IT magazines and I saw a news about new feature google introduced in their translate app.

I was shocked to learn something like this is possible - I mean I know about OCR but doing it in real time with replacing actual text on the image got me amazed.

Yep, i read about it today also, and I was baffled. This technique is absolutely awesome, wish it was there two weeks ago when I was on vacation.. would have saved me a lot of time reading the restaurant menu. Go google!

It seems awesome, but I'd prefer to use it on a device like google glass since it would be much easier and quicker to use.

LOL the only real language in that whole list is English. The others are just accents, so yes, he's trolling....

Not the same at all.

For example in English a fanny is a a pussy, in American it is a bum.
In Australian a Shelia is a woman, in English it is a name.
In Scottish wee means small, in English it means a piss.
Scottish again "ack doo noo" English "I don't know".
American - Hommie English - friend hommie = gay person.

It would be awesome if they added a feature for google glass where you can see the words popup on a piece of paper when your trying to translate something so you can write over them. And be able to send letters to people in languages you don't actually know.

Of course Google would have to get more serious about translating and hire legions of people to fix up all the errors.
