Google To Have a New Competitor?

I guess there are many waiting for the dominance of google to end. Just 2 weeks ago I saw an article in the Daily Mail(UK) about how google is entering every facet of our lives. Over 80% of searchers use Google then a subset use google mail, checkout, ....chrome and more. Can you imagine how much information they have on you???

Having said that Microsoft with all its billions have tried to unseat Google, I wonder if a newcomer can just bring them down ....hey but then again I'm a believer in the impossible..

All you guys looking for google to fail soon, forget it. It just isn't going to happen. Yeah, new companies crop up and become big but only when the landscape changes. The computer landscape changed with the growth of the internet, that is how google came up.

Technology is going to have to change or a new one emerge from somewhere so as to be the backbone of the next big company. Even then google will still struggle to keep up and won't die just like that.

Look at history. The mainframe era had IBM, the desktop cropped up and microsoft emerged to conquer the desktop. IBM tried to do something with the desktop but made more mistakes than necessary. Thought it was eclipsed by MS, IBM still stuck around.

When the internet gained widespread acceptance, google emerged it surely has dominated the internet. Microsoft is trying to get a piece too. Their costly mistake was not taking the internet too seriously at the beginning but they are still a float and still big. Just as IBM before did not die, microsoft has not died. The trend only dictates that google will not die.

What about the trend that google set of unsetting everyone they did?
Its definitely not impossible, nobody is invincible, a lot fall along the way, but google is so ingrained into life its hard to imagine it any other way now.
