Google has the habit of crashing many small business to gain more money. This is another big step against many brands as well.

Wow that actually looks really nice, too bad most people won't be able to take advantage of this.

It seems as if its sponsored. So... Lets say I wanted a banner like that?

I would assume I would need to:

    1. build a massive website
    2. get brand factor status
    3. use loads of adwords
    4. Pay LOADS of money to Google.

I do get the feeling we will be moving away from Google soon. The days of 10 search results and a few adword ads are far far gone. But ultimately I wonder if the general user finds this useful or not. I personally would not.

Now Google is going to start to go away from ranking your site to the #1 spot, to pay for your site to be in the #1 spot. This is going to get way out of hand, I can tell already.

I don't see how they type of advertising will last personally.

Search Engines work on User Experience - and if your going to jam that sort of advertising in front of them on every search
    well they will go elsewhere.

I see it exciting them in the short term - thinking they are going to be on a Goldmine charging for that type of Ad - but its not going to work.

Also with more and more people going mobile and desktop sales diving - that's just not going to work in a mobile environment ..

so yeah short lived I'd say.

Yep, lies lies and lies. I can quote you this too . This is what matt cutts said back in 2010.

Today it's 100% encrypted search and it is turned on by default

If this happens with branded searches, why would they ever pay? Searching for "southwest airlines" would have their site being first anyway.

If so, Google will probably be buying so many companies which develop such software.
