Good game blackhat SEO users, if you are caught infringing they now take you out of the SERP's.

I have been waiting for the day google starts controlling the content even more.

oh, nevermind... shit I think I've got some kind of drunken dyslexia.
Anyways, good luck to DMCA taking down millions of f'n websites, it was about time :)

Google will remove you the SERP because of a DMCA complaint ONLY if you created your site/blog using BLOGGER.

WRONG!!! they will take out any page from the SERPs as long as they get a DMCA complaint... been there, done that...

as for the OP i guess he doesn't use google much, i see those warnings at least since the beginning of 2009 and my websites have been the reason for some of them several times

not new, I remembered seeing this many months ago

Hmmm may not be new but a good way to take down competitors if you don't mind the potential cost for "damages" for a misfile of those.

I know they ban sites from adwords but organic listings ?? And how are they going to prove who is the original owner of the content ? I mean if I copy one article from someone's site how is he going to prove that this is his original work ? This is probably if someone uploads movies and software and maybe copied from books with ISBN number. One citiation from the act itself :
"Copyright Act requires claims to copyright to be
registered with the Copyright Office before a lawsuit can be initiated by the copyright
owner,"
So the claims to copyright must be registered. Which automatically excludes most of the websites. If someone just writes something on his site it doesn't make it copyrighted material. Don't worry if you copy someones articles they probably are not registered.

one more thing... if you are using google webmaster tools in your site they will mail you a warning saying that they removed such and such page of your site from the SERPs because of a DMCA complaint filled by so and so person/company
