Google Suggest Manipulation - Any Tips?

So yeah, I finally have to give this old gem a try. Need to get a few desirable terms into suggest to displace an undesirable.

Going to use one or two of the crowdsourcing sites from this awesome thread.

If you have been successful with this, any pointers would be appreciated.

I'm particularly wondering about how many searches it might take to get a new suggestion to start showing up, and how many per day / week / whatever has helped people meet with success.
