Google spying shown live on video

That's fine with me. It's not like there's a third world call center with a dude wearing a huge headset and scribbling notes on my activities. This isn't Watergate, it's all robots and shit. If Google wants to listen in to me telling my wife that 30 Seconds to Mars is finally coming to town, and then display relevant ads, so be it. If I have to suffer through advertising, I'd rather have it related to my lifestyle instead of just my browsing habits.

@Apricot needs to pass out the tin foil hats.

I really think this is fake, and unless you have an external microphone always powered on i don't see how this could work.

Google home can barely understand me, I doubt google chrome is this adept

What they will do with quadrillion bytes of useless data?
This is why I always use INCOGNITO window:cool:

Haha so true!!

This.

I give no shits about what other people/Google hears, I'm not planning to do anything illegal anyways.

How would the data be useless? Sherbs just outlined a possible use case above (ad targeting). Apart from that the data can have plenty of uses, if it cannot be used for targeting, selling directly, it still can be used in machine learning, to make their voice recognition better etc.

Chrome gets the microphone permission on install and it comes preloaded on Android phones. Why would it be so hard? Voice commands are the reason given for needing such a permission and I find it hard to believe that they would not be collecting data, after all Google is the original Blackhatter in my opinion.

ha ha well said, if you or me to do it - we get penalized but if the big guys do they walk scot-free.

Nice start, cannot wait to see the fusion of Google and Neuralink managed by a super AI.

Should be great to see laser targeted ads before I even realize I need these products, Google is great, I love every part of it!

I don't say that because G record my voice (or political opinions who know) and want my sites #1, not at all, anyway I have to say I really love Google more than my competitors.

It's a shame that G+ did not take the place of Facebook, their platform is so much better.

The question is, did average users consent to this? Do The People, average folks know they're being recorded 24x7?

The head of the FBI has said he cuts off the camera and mic. Is he doing anything illegal?

Incognito does only one thing: it stops recording browsing history temporarily, nothing else. Incognito is about cookies and local history only, does nothing for you remotely. Their background process is still recording.

You mean an external mic like the ones on every notebook, tablet and phone which are always on and impossible to turn off physically unless you open the gadget and cut the wires?

One more thing: to be able to understand voice commands, these gadgets have to process the audio on the cloud. Therefore phones and cars are recording everything 24x7 near them and are sending it to the cloud. It's openly spying on everyone. This used to be illegal up until a few years ago, somehow it's become ok?

If you think this is fine, then there's something very wrong with your concept to the right of privacy.

The right to privacy is already ended.

I'm almost sure in a very near future those who invite others to think about this phenomenon will be severely reprimanded.

I hope everyone understands what happens right now in China with their mass surveillance system because it's a kind of "beta" for the whole world and it's scary as fuck.

unplug your mic when you're not using it (preferably no bluetooth) and you're good to go

Agree with this as well. Really couldn’t care less.
