I'm decently versed in CPA marketing through CL etc. so I decided to shift to WH SEO for now.

Heard great things about Google Sniper 2.0 (as a place to start from). George Brown does make things seem pretty simple, but I find myself stuck in the KW research stage for over 4 hours now..and I'm getting a little irritated that I haven't found ONE KW that matches his criteria:

-Monetizing Niche--> Monetizing KW (CHECK)
-KW gets 3000+ searches/month (CHECK)
-1st page Google search of the KW shows low PR sites, so fairly easy to overtake (CHECK)
-KW has less than 13,000 competing pages--you can check by putting your KW in "...." onto Google and look at the # of results. (NOT CHECK)

For some reason I'm unable to meet this 4th criteria and it's really bugging me now...everything else seems doable except for this part and I'm not sure if I should even continue past this step with the KW's that I've found b/c they all have 100k+ competing pages.

Also, how effective are this guy's methods? Do they work really well?

I paid for the $1 trial when it first came out, but didn't bother upgrading.

If I remember there was also other upsells to buy etc etc, so can't really tell you just how good his methods are.

Those 4 steps are common knowledge. I hope there is more to his course or whatever then that.

The reason you are struggling is because every tom, dick, and harry have been (and still are) searching for things that meet that criteria for years.

Not impossible to find nowadays, but unless you are automating your search it will take you a hell of a long time to find keywords manually that meet that criteria.

I didn't read G Sniper 2.0 yet, but would like to clarify few things about your keyword criteria check because you are missing lots of factors..

-Monetizing Niche--> Monetizing KW (CHECK)
Make sure it is not a seasonal keyword
-KW gets 3000+ searches/month (CHECK)
Make sure it is exact search count.
-1st page Google search of the KW shows low PR sites, so fairly easy to overtake (CHECK)
PR is just one of the factors to check. You need to analyze the on-site/off-site SEO of the first page ranking sites completely.
-KW has less than 13,000 competing pages--you can check by putting your KW in "...." onto Google and look at the # of results. (NOT CHECK)

Again number of competing pages is just one factor. Some times G0ogle lie about search results count. Go to last page of the search result to find the exact competing pages..

Don't worry about that last criteria. Think about what you're looking at. If there are more then 13000 urls targetting that keyword, who cares? If there are 1,000,000 urls I don't care. If those 1,000,000 urls don't know anything about seo, then you can outrank them pretty quick. So when analyzing a keyword, I focus on the sites on the first page, and take a quick glance at a few more pages if needs be. And all I care about is their link building strategy and onpage seo. You can tell pretty quickly how difficult its gonna be to outrank them

Adwords keyword tool doesn't show trends anymore for some reason..?

Make sure it is exact search count.
George mentions that it should be "Phrase" not "Broad" or "Exact"

On site: I would be checking for # of posts, heading, title, body relevance, etc., right?

Off-site: Backlinks, etc.? Someone suggested using Traffic Travis for that, which I'm using now.

Thanks will do this!

That last criteria is a bit silly. The number of competing pages, as far as I'm concerned is irrelevant. The quality of the Top 10 is all that matters, cause they are the ones you want to beat. You can have 50 strong pages that you will never beat, or 1.5 million pages that you can walk over.

My advice... ignore it :) I use Market Samurai to check the competition strength. Pretty sweet tool

Log into your adwords account and check again. Enable the option "Local search trends"
You can also use G0ogle Trends and G0ogle Insights for more in-depth analysis..

Yes, you can use TT, but don't trust the Keyword difficulty rating given by TT. It is not accurate as far as I know...Always cross check the data manually what you receive via TT.

Hey I would take a look at sean donahoe's "extreme niche empires" inside are very good methods with over 6-7 hrs of step by step video tutorials. I can say that it's probably one of the best courses I've gotten my hands on...
