Google Slapped?

I was ranking a site, and doing decently well (nothing on front page yet...most on page 2 - 3, but I was climbing. It's a new site.). I did a scrapebox blast and now it dropped almost ALL of my keyword rankings to between position 80 and not even on the first 100 results. Usually when pages do the Google dance, it only drops a page or two (in my experience anyways). Did Google take some more serious action against me?

I had one go from Page 1...took a nose dive to page 70-80 (bouncing around there). I've had this happen a long time ago to...I just have to focus on fewer higher quality links and it'll eventually come back...oh and keep updating it with fairly unique content.
