Google search results for my website are appearing with my compay name first followed by the page/meta title...
Example: My Company Name: Website Page Title...

just wondering if this is just a google thing or if its from the way my page titles are setup on my wordpress site... Any way to changeit so it doesn't appear at the beginning of the mta title and cutting it off?

im using yoast seo btw, incase that helps :)

have a look at your wordpress settings, and there is location in there to set it. You can get a plugin like all in 1 seo, and override it if you need, or just change it from there and see how it goes.

Check with the plugin to see what it's settings are but also go to wordpress dashboard> settings> general to see what you have as your blog title

For yoast, go to SEO>Titles & Metas Tab>Home Tab

You'll then be able to change your site title & meta description. Check the other tabs for more customization of inner pages.

Thx it looks like it was to wp site title.. Should I leave that blank so page titles are shown instead?

A client had this happen to him recently too. All of his pages look like this:

Post Title - Domain Title

When you go to the post, you only see the post title, but Google is sticking the Domain Title in as well.

Google changes the snippet and title according to their algo. It's not necessarily always what you put into the html tags.

On one site I have, for example, if you search for the domain name it shows one title, if you search for a kw where the page is ranked, it shows a different title....

Your theme probably has inbuilt seo features which are conflicting with yoast. Make sure anything seo within the theme functions are off. In your Yoast dashboard clck "force rewrite titles" that should do it.
