Google Shopping/Merchant Center: Upload same product multiple times

I'm considering uploading the same product multiple times to optimize for different keywords in the feed.

I will of course create separate product IDs for each and a different image link, as well as using a separate product page (with almost the same content though).

Is it risky or not? What do you think?

Yes and it is allowed in google shopping. Do it through different css google shopping partners.

It will also get you the clicks at 20% cheaper rate.

As far as I understand their policy they say it's actually not allowed though, or am I misreading something?

But you say I should use different CSS partners for each feed? I'm on Shopify and using the app by Simprosys currently. Wasn't even aware of any CSS partners.
