    Hey Guys,

Google showing a private site search in the SERP now?
I have not seen much about this. Can anyone point me to something to read about what is going on in this pic? It's now happening on a corporate site in my niche and it's pissed me right off.

    example: http://www.google.com/search?q=immigration+canada

Its a secondary search box withen results, google was experimenting and found that, it would increase there chances of finding the exact page they are looking for.

Now it wont happen with all sites just like, wikipedia, microsoft etc....

It generates more revenue for them so why not :D

How does it get them more revenue? Is it a paid thing? Do you have any info about it to share?

It's a load of crap, cause it shows on the #1 serp in my niche.

Ebay is number 2 and I am #3.

    1. So now, the manufacturer of the product I sell gets a higher percentage of the web traffic even though they don't sell the stuff online.

    2. Ebay auctions that are a week expired should not even be in the SERP, I know that ebay wants to drive traffic but they used to not show up in the organics so much.

When you search for my product, you get a first page full of ebay listings and my web store. Why the hell can ebay maintain 8 of 10 listings in the serp. Especially when the auctions that are in the are 9 times out of 10 over by the time they are indexed.
I thought google was about user experience... That would frustrate the hell out of me as a buyer. It does bad enough now and I am higher than ebay for my keywords.

What i mean by making them more revenue is, its keeping users on Google that bit longer, and more chance to click ads.
