Google SEO Question,

I think it goes without saying that it will be very hard to get to #1 let alone the first page. You have to much competition for the keyword money. Go for long tailed keywords with money in it. Do some keyword research with adwords keyword tool or some other methods on this forum..
Ok thanks, could you link me to them? there are many fake tools around here..

I remember the days I was like the OP. I thought it would be a simple task to rank for those big time keywords.
I do like to see new people with enthusiasm though.
Whosays has some good advice for you. You will find a lot of good methods for keyword research on the forum by using the advanced search. I would also suggest looking in the members download section and finding some good tutorials on SEO.
Once you have a basic understanding of KW research and SEO, then find some decent long tail keywords. Then when you have a list of long tail KWs, lay out a good SEO strategy and go for it.

Yes you will need many backlinks. However if you do not do a good job with your KW research and on page optimization. You will have to work much harder and have more quality backlinks to rank good.

Yep. That is why he needs to find some long-tail KWs and work on ranking them instead.

why would you want to rank for such a broad keyword? Do you have a tested funnel that proves the exact match word [money] is worth your time. Could be a rabbit hole.
1. Find long tail, rank no 1 for them
2. Then choose shorter keywords and rank for them
3. After ranking no 1 for 30+ long tail keywords you can go for your [money keyword]

By using "keyword research" tools. There are plenty of them on the web, like google adwords keyword tool (Free), MarketSamurai(Paid) etc.

Maybe you should work on your site for more than a year @ 12-15 hours a day to get 1st page in google for that keyword.

I could hit first page for that keyword. I hate to admit that I can't get the number one position though

For getting your website on the first page done seo by using seo software. thare are various softwares available like market samurai etc.

High PR links are the key with low OBL.
The easiest way is to analyze your competitors and follow their path. (most of the top ranked website buy high PR links) unfortunately not many of us afford to spend thousands a month on links but it is doable.
