Google Sends Warning - Need New Analytics

And here i think lies the answer. I wasn't aware of this, and thank you for telling me about it. All i know is the best thing to do in this situation is to get rid of those accounts linked and just keep link building. I'll let you know if this backfires and i get deindexed but as is today i'm still on the top of G.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this forum - i'm using piwik and loving it!

From reading the guidelines that leaked last year, as soon as you hit #1 you get a manual review. Pretty insane. I wonder how many people work as reviewers.

If you aren't using google products like adsense on your website, google can't see what a user does after visiting your site, except the bounce rate.
So, if you are using adsense, you might as well use analytics. On the other hand, if you aren't using adsense, and it's a blackhat site, don't use analytics.

As for WMT, google already has the data, WMT is just a way for you to keep an eye on it.

I don't use adsense, and this is exactly what i was trying to say the entire time. You're a gentleman and a scholar.

Keep GWT. Drop Analytics.
Once they have tracking code there is NO difference in the information they gather from your website - Analytics and Webmaster integrate nicely

Trust me when I say they absolutely DO use your webmaster tools data when auditing your website.
THEY HAVE THAT INFO EVEN IF YOU DO NOT USE WEBMASTER TOOLS there is no clearer way to say it. Yes, they use 'that' info (and by "auditing" you mean manual review?) BUT they do not need you to be signed up on webmaster tools to have that info.

If you want to think that keeping tracking codes off your website makes a difference, then you don't need to ask for advice, just go ahead and do whatever makes you happy :)

As far as I know GA can show them for example the bouncing rate and other visitor information like this. I don't use GA on my sites (because I want to keep the data anyway at my own server) and use instead - as mentioned Piwik - which works great.

Bro hold up, i'm not arguing with you. All i'm trying to say is by having a G webmaster account and doing things against their TOS you're keeping a live record on your behalf. I'm not saying that they log into my webmaster account and see my data, i know they can see EVERYTHING. I'm saying you're a bleep on their little radar and your bleep goes a little less bright when you get rid of their software.

Not to say if they want to just look at a site they won't and can't. But to say i'm trying to stay a bit more camouflaged.

I don't think this is true. Because Webmaster tools doesn't force you to include JS code which is executed on visitor browsers. Webmaster tools is to add sitemap and get other diagnose information. In case of Adsense, then it's the same problem like you would use analytics (it loads JS code too).

also as long as the visitor isn't using chrome, or google toolbar, and isn't signed into their gmail or google apps account (which leaves an internet wide tracking cookie on their computer). Plus whatever tracking methods they have that aren't as well known.

It is irrational to think you are somehow withholding information from them by not using Analytics / Webmaster Tools....

Ever since Google implemented the public announcement of watching everything you do via tracking and integrating all your information into one panel for them to observe, they have started banning websites.

It makes sense.

Let's say you use Google to find blackhat methods, or visit BHW through their search engine, you email using gmail to your friends regarding blackhat methods, etc. they put 2 and 2 together and ban your site.

Of course they have been tracking you all along, but now it is official.

Just wait until Google+, Twitter, and Facebook merge, then you are really going to have a hard time doing anything online.

And whoever thinks they are separate companies and do not share information, I got a bridge to sell to you in the Pacific Ocean

Just wait for Internet 2.0, you'll see what I mean.

@Nordajgt: I'm not arguing, this is a discussion that has been needed, there's a TON of misinformation out there.

I understand that's what you want to do, and why you think what you're doing will work.
It is a false sense of improved security.

The manual reviews are not only for the #1 results, by the way.
They do manual review of first page results on competitive terms and certain terms with high adsense cpc (mesothelamia ;) )

There are hordes of low wage manual reviewers who get like 30 seconds to analyze your website. You can find the G written guidelines for manual reviewers by doing a search - it's an interesting read

The reason I use G Analytics and Webmaster (and I use BH backlinking methods):

I want to see as much of what G is seeing as possible. If there is something that would cause a red flag, I want to see that so that I can correct it.

You can stick your head in the sand, and say "If I don't see them, they can't see me" but it just doesn't work that way in real life.

Some people prefer the illusion of safety above all else.

This thread has really become interesting. It's evolved away from being a discussion on what Google does and does not know, and instead it's an "inside view" of the mindset of some of your competitors, and why beating them isn't really going to be all that difficult.

Slight Update: I did a small change to my homepage meta title to see if G had been there recently etc. They came last night at the indexing took place, not to mention i'm ranking even better than before. So far so good.

Folks Folks Folks. Believe what you want but I have heard the answer from the heavens.

Google doesn't give a SHIT about black hat links (unless you're an idiot and doing it wrong) and they only enforce their policy on them if they are incriminated. Via webmaster tools data and analytics data.

They want us to rank higher than our competition because it FORCES our competition to use their PPC services.

Believe what you want, and in the end do what you want, but really think about it and it will make perfect sense to you.
