I have page URLs that show up in Google when I search using site:mysite.com/blogpost

But those pages do not show as indexed in Google Search Console as indexed. GSC only says the page is not in Google. I have submitted them for indexing.

What is the discrepancy here? Do the site:mysite results not mean the page is indexed???

Thank you in advance for any answers and insight.

GSC takes time to update, site: operator is correct

The "site:" results may not reflect actual indexing. GSC's status is more accurate. Google may have crawled but not indexed them.

the difference between GSC and google index tag differs mate .

There is a possibility that the "site:" results do not reflect actual indexing. GSC's status is more accurate but it takes time to update , So the google might have crawled but not indexed the site.

If the urls are showing up for a site: query, then they must be indexed, otherwise Google wouldn't be able to serve those results. It's when your urls are not showing in both site: queries and GSC that you should be worried. GSC tends to be the more accurate of the two, but Google itself has been mentioning indexing issues and backlogs for a while. AI is starting to choke the Whale.

The data in Search Console may not be instantly updated to show the most recent indexing status. There could be a time lag between when Google crawls and indexes a page.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. Albinkurti was correct. GSC didn't show a recent update. A couple days later, the URLs were in GSC as well as site: operator.
