google search console question?

I'm looking at the ranking position of keywords that search console is listing and none of the keywords that are showing up in GSC are actually in the ranks?

Any idea why this is happening? Does it usually show keywords that aren't actually in the ranks for others?

do you mean the keywords that show up and which you got impressions for, are not ranking at top position? it might be easier to answer if you provide some examples using fake keywords like red apple, green apple...

Google search rankings change based on many factors. If someone in Germany searches Google, they get different results from someone in Canada. Lots of other factors too.

So, your search result can show up #1 for me, but then if you check yourself, it can show up #8 for you.

How many impressions are you showing for the keywords that you are checking? Is it a new website?

Use Ahref to check keyword ranking. It will be better.

You have to use SEO tools, or keywords tools.
