Google Search Captcha - Will it affect SE rankings?

Hey guys,

If I'm rank tracking with software like Traffic Travis or Market Samurai, I get the usual Google search Captcha for trying to request too much data in a certain period of time.

My question is this: Will this affect my search placement since they are logging the IP that it's coming from, and will they penalize me for tracking the site's rank? I have about 200 sites that need monthly rank tracking data for clients, so this is a serious matter. I don't need all of these sites getting deindexed because I'm trying to keep track of all of them.

I know I'll most likely need proxies, but should I host these programs on a VPS and do the proxies? Will this checking have effect on the way Google feeds information back to these programs? Am I just paranoid?

get private proxies and you will be ok

Just like kideze said, this will not deindex you. I have been using market samurai for a while and I see no problems. Other than typing captachas are annoying.

Well the thing is that we've gotten about a third of our sites deindexed previously and a few other penalties, so we're trying to make sure that soemthing like this won't push Google's penalty button and get more of our sites taken out of the ranking.

google is fighting automated queries, in no way it will hurt your rankings. actually clicking your link can increase your rank (as i am pretty sure they track CTR)

If they were deindexed then it was because of content or bad seo not because your tracking rankings

Google probably has thousands of heavy duty scrapers to worry about, to pay attention to you. As long as you are not scraping something along the potential that scrapebox can scrape with proxies, you should be fine. However, just to be on the safer side, why don't you use some proxies and sleep better at night?
