Google Reconsideration Requests are Automated - Confirmed!

I had initially send 2 reconsideration requests in the month of December and got back a reply in about 11 days precisely.

Then another reconsideration request was sent in February, again the reply got was within 11 days from submission.

I have done 3 reconderation requests on one site, each time removing more links and each time the reply has come back exactly on the 11th day. I have also had reports/seen other people saying 10-11 days.

My thinking is this gives them time to crawl the whole web again to see if the links are there or not. If you think about it if the computer knows what the threshold is, there is no reason to employ an army of people to deal with the 5000 requests they get a day.

That is obvious...bots do the leg work and the manual noobs do the click work

Google has a consistent method of automating most if not all of what used to be manual in many of their processes. Long before anything gets a manual review there are likely several steps of automated processes. Its present in their penalties, and in their reconsiderations as well.

Quite possible but perhaps there could be a manual element on the 11th day?

Can I ask what kind of emails do you get after the reconsideration request?
What exactly are they telling you? Do they give you any answer if your clean up was good or not?

Seems obvious to me.

It's also automated for onpage penalty.

It might be possible. Going to check out the new reconsideration request i will be sending today.

All but obvious statement. Google is slowly moving towards complete automation.

They just say you are yet to clean up all the links and the email clearly seem to be automated.

Once i got a reply back that you have to further clean up. For which i sent a reply that i don't find any more bad links to clean up. I got another reply back with three sample links. I removed these sample links and replied back stating that it has been removed. I got again a reply that i need to remove more links like so and so, they gave another 3 more sample links. I got them also removed. This went on for at least 2 more times and once after i told that i don't find any more links to remove i got a reply that your penalty has been removed. Though i never got back the rankings for those keywords but i saw that the site again started gaining rankings and was doing well with new pages. But existing pages never moved much. The reason also could be that a bunch of good links were removed along with spam. Because, a Google employee will never say that the link you removed was not spam but a good backlink. So better method is to drown the site with penalty and go build a new site on a fresh domain.
