The more I read and learn about Matt Cutts the more I realize he is totally full of SHIT...
 
i see a good opportunity for "destroying the competition" just like gurus says all the time lol...

Just make a pinger with private proxies with that chrome addon integrated into it and start bombing your competitiors by flagging them as spam :P 500 flags a day should destroy the site.

But we will see.
 
maybe its googles way to create a "like" or "dis-link" button just like facebook did. i think google is trying to be the new social search engine....lol

With ease. I will definitely do this if possible. Good opportunity indeed but we definitely will see. But, when google comes out with some new junk to restrict black hatters more, us black hatters will always figure out a new method to use this new junk for our advantage or quickly bypass it. :D
 
Does this mean the end of autoblogs? If this is true I'll need to delete my autoblog etc. Either that, or delete every post my blog has output so far, find a plugin that spins each post and start back from the beginning. I'm not sure if even spinning posts will work, if someone can give me some advice please PM me...
 
I doubt the 'report spam' button would be set on google's end to automatically deindex a site, more than likely it will flag it so a human editor can look into it.. if they see no foul, they will simply ignore future flags, or re-rate it accordingly.
 
Can you imagine how long it would take a human editor to check each site that has been flagged....its a reverse Dmoz...and as a Dmoz editor...I know I like to work slow ;)

Every time he farts, millions of webmasters shit their pants... usually for nothing. But misinformation is actually a very powerful weapon; you just need a bold clown to present it.

Anyway the reporting can actually work, just like targeted advertisement works. A user is tracked through his cookie, through the analytics cookie, through Chrome and through the toolbar. Those who get the data can analyze it, the so called data mining, and serve ads that are relevant to each user.

Now if you go to a site that is selling cameras and click the report bad content button your browsing history gets pulled and if it shows that you were indeed prevously clicking on photography links, buying photography stuff, spending hours on photography articles then your vote gets counted.

If however this is something previously uneard of (in your browsing history), your vote gets dropped.

It would be very hard to fake cookies and stuff to trick the system just like it's hard to hide fake clicks, proxy or no proxy. Also the button could be made with java, flash and the rest of the bunch that has independent internet access and thus the potential to leak the real IP unless a truly anonymous socks proxies are used. And these are not exactly plentiful.
 
We now well that there is no need to believe in everything Matt Cutts says.
Anyway in my opinon we can't deny that links from blog comment and forum profiles have lost strenght.
They still work but they don't give so much power as it used to be.
I would not be surprised to see that this kind of links will lose even more importance in 2011

I think you are absolutely correct, we all know google is very jealous of facebook's success. They want a piece of the pie, this may be a step along the way. having a like and dislike button in google chrome.

But, I don't think they will be able to use it for SERP's because it will totally get abused.
 
I think its interesting that they are actually considering allowing the community to report sites. it's almost the same thing that CL has done with the whole flagging situation. They put it up, - people started hitting the button on competitors. They put controls into place - people created bots. They put MORE controls into place - people beat them as well. Today CL has put themselves into a position where the "spammers" still "spam", the regular folks cant post and are pissed off, and the ones that can post flag the crap out of each other using various means of getting different IPs.

How long does Google think the world's public is going to put up with that going on?
Bing and the rest of them must be drooling over this possibility.
 
The truth is there will always be a way to game the system... rules where meant to be broken. I don't believe I do any blackhat marketing, I just call it aggressive!

And being bold and aggressive usually works in my favor because it gets results... in most cases it produces one profitable site after another.
