I have no idea what is going on, I had a keyword hit position 10 a month ago and now its down to 28. I've built more links to this keyword, 22200 US searches per month, plus built links to lower comp related keywords that are now first page.

Another keyword which is harder to rank for with 4400 US searches is now position 4 with less links built, bizarre stuff from Google!

It's just Google dance it will happen sometimes while building links to the site,so keep building links to attain your goal.

Don't over optimize your money keywords. Try to build link on other keywords like brand keywords, naked urls, generic keywords.

Not bizarre at all, that's want happens. It will settle down eventually

Probably just need some Matt Cutts approved secret sauce links. Can buy them over at the WF for five shillings a go.

Check on-page SEO, 404 errors, site speed (if possible) and diversify your backlinks when you build more links.

It takes time to settle down for a new site, don't worry keep building links.

No spam links, all articles written by myself, quite boring homeware articles at that! I'm hoping the sell the site next month and I'll use the money to build some sites that I can rank top 3 on Google for.

This was more a learning project to see what I could do, my other site is a travel blog that hardly gets any organic traffic, but I didn't know about web 2.0's and back links last year ;-)

If this site is under 2 years old, it'll jump around a lot. When you gain reputation and domain authority it starts to settle.

Its just google dance, add some strong pbn links and social signals.

Build some brand links and LSIs.

Add social signals. After all, you cant say how many links are required for a particular keyword to rank as it depends on niche, keyword difficulty etc.

You may need to add more links.

That's what I'm working out from my Google webmaster data and how many links I've laid down for keyword that I'm ranking for. I'll be able to use this data depending on keyword difficulty for my next sites.

Sometimes Google dance may cause the change in the ranking of your site. Even it may take 1 or 2 weeks to settle down in its own position according to keywords.

I have noticed the same shit with one of my sites. No work done on it, but recently all the keywords are bouncing from 1 2 3 to page 2
