Hey All,

This site luxury-spa-breaks.org.uk used to rank No.1 for the Keywords "Luxury Spa Breaks" it's no longer in the top 60

July 2012 - August 2012 Top 10
Sept 2012 - October 5th 1st
October 6th - November - 16th - 26th
November 5th - Gone from top 60.

If you reviewed the site any ideas why?, I have a similar site that's ranking number 1, EMD, Same Layout etc, different Niche.

Hit by Google Updates. Look here a dates. Most of "strong" links are from spolgs or blog networks. That i see on Majestic.

I'm not saying this is what caused it, but when I briefly looked at it, this is what I noticed:

1) All your external links are d*follow affiliate links
2) Your backlink velocity history looks unnatural - you've steadily been losing links since mid November
3) Your anchor text diversification looks unnatural
4) Many of your links come from non-authority sites not centered around Spas

Some great reviews here, so do you think this site is worth saving? building new links?
Regarding point 3) What tool did you use to review this? How can I make it look natural, thanks for your advice.

The links going to the site are surrounded by bad content = penalty passing to the site. Disavow or remove all the bad content links and you should be good to go.

Also that chick in the youtube video gets around, Im seeing her in everyones videos. Fiverr is just great:-)

Thanks, what's the best way to pull up all my back-links and find which ones are the bad links to Disavow?

Tool - Ahrefs.com

Is the site savable? Yes. Is the site worth saving? In my opinion, no. It takes too much effort to save a site nowadays. Its actually faster to restart a new site and get it ranking.

There are a lot of things to look at to determine if a site is natural or not, in fact there are too many to mention, but what I recommend doing is looking at the link profiles of the top 10 sites ranking for the keyword(s) you're targeting. These sites are doing exactly what Google wants, so model your link structures off of them. So if none of those sites have blog comments, don't make blog comments the cornerstone of your link building campaign.

Also, don't assume that the more links you have the better. It is about link quality, not quantity.

How did you guys figure out what happened? Just by going through the links and looking at the link patterns?

With a quick peek in ahrefs looking at the sites the (partial match)anchors were used, you see a lot of unrelated crap. This can work for a long or short time, but eventually(certainly after the google updates) this is not the indicator of a good linkprofile....
