Hi,

Totally new to SEO, got told that if you browsed your website from different IPs and left it on for 3 minutes this would assist Google to recognise your website and start to index it. Can someone confirm whether true or not?

If not, any advice to get a new website to get up the rankings would be appreciated. Please move if in wrong forum

TIA

Simple suggestion, start reading the content on this forum, after that you will have a better idea on what to ask and on SEO

no browsing your site from different IPs wont help you with indexing. create quality content, optimize SEO and build Niche specific quality backlink and raise request on Google search console for indexing and ranking.

Well, the whole thing is that Google has been using Chrome data for SEO for a good while now,
This includes both indexing & ranking, it's pretty much like social media to tell whenever the users like or/and getting served what they want,

Using a different browser won't help, you have to use Chrome along with different device fingerprints, IPs, etc...
And a couple of visits won't probably do much, you'll need a few dozens of them at least (can't tell the exact range)

Accessing your site from different IPs won’t improve indexing. Instead, focus on creating high-quality, engaging content, optimizing your on-page SEO, and building niche-specific, authoritative backlinks.
Additionally, don’t forget to use Google Search Console to request indexing ;)

it is better to make about 30 visits, then it will be good, 3 times is not enough
