Hello, well my website is ranking on google for its non www instead of its www Yes i have it redirected to its (www). But its still showing up on google with its non-WWW so my question is, whenever im doing backlinks services. Which site should i be actually doing it to? The WWW or the non-WWW & also how can i get google to recognize my WWW instead of my non WWW?

have you used the settings in Webmaster tools to define default.

if you have set the redirect to the www, then thats what you should use from now

Go into your webmaster tools(google) and choose either www or without!

Its personal preference really

Im a non-www fan myself. :) Once you are in Google Webmaster and have selected your website (so you are in the dashboard), What you'd want to do is go to

Site Configuration -> Settings.

Set your Preferred domain to either the WWW or non WWW ... With that said, there is also some information about setting redirects on your website to force www or non www on there, too (I believe under the learn more).

On that note, if you set your preferred domain to WWW and want to change it to non-WWW and get an error, you'll have to make sure that both sites (even temporarily in some cases) are in your sites list before you can go to it and switch. (It's an annoying issue, sometimes).

Okay thanks very much, ill give it a try now.

Build links for what ever version you have set it to, as it is www version so this is the one you should be building links for. The other one will automatically get removed from the SERPs. If it doesn't then you can restrict the crawlers from crawling it.
