I see a lot of posts asking what is working in 2019. Well, if you have not seen @MatthewWoodward's article on positive and negative ranking factors that Google takes into consideration, it is well worth the read and will answer some of those questions.

For newbies, it is an excellent guide of what they should be aiming for, and what to avoid. For more experienced IM'ers there is still some good tips and reminders.

Personally, I like how it is laid out, with a quick summary at the top of each part and then detailed explanations. Nicely done Matt, very easy to read and digest.

I must say really good article. He did some work on that.
 
Spent some time reading through 90% of it, and I think it will be helpful in guiding my personal SEO strategy, especially the link building tips.

Definitely not my favourite description and one that is definitely perceived as negative on BHW....if self proclaimed. When I see guru, I think...

Same here. That's why I asked. Cuz I became instantly skeptical when I saw the word guru.

These guys actually make money telling people how they would make money. It's amazing.
 
A lot of people make money telling people how to make money

I read the article and couple of others from his site. He's simply rewriting content from other blogs, I don't see any new info there.
