google ranking change in recent week

Hello, I have a 5-year-old website with a DA close to 50. I’ve been focusing on its content for about a year and a half now, all without using AI, and I’ve seen results. Five months ago, I started updating all the old content, either adding to it or optimizing it for SEO.
Everything was going well until last week, my rankings were consistently improving But suddenly, as of last week, my rankings dropped back to where they were a year ago, or even lower In lot of keywords, even though they were rising just the week before!
Now, it’s gotten to the point where an old, unupdated, copied article from 3 years ago is ranking higher than my updated content. I don’t know if this is a Google Dance or what, it's been almost a month since the last core update.
anyone have same issue in recent week?

A few of my dead websites have started getting traffic in the last 2 weeks; Google is completely unpredictable now. As you said, your DA is 50, so is the off-page SEO strong enough to compete with competitors? If the topic is the same, the content length matters too,

The websites that are ranking above me for some topics don’t even have a direct connection to the searched topic, and it’s quite interesting that Google is showing them higher than me. As for DA, theirs is much lower, and they haven’t suddenly risen to the top. It’s like what you’re saying, that Google is bringing dead contents to the top. This situation is just strange and doesn’t make much sense.

it does make sense when you consider the purpose of "for profit" companies, which is.... well, to make profit

They intentionally rank garbage to keep users continuing "refining" their search so that they can be presented with more ads, which means more money for google.

Google have never given a rat's ass about quality in the last decade (before that, they might have, but lately not) and every update they come up with is geared towards making them more money at the cost of everyone else. It doesn't matter to google anymore if you're a white hat guy, a black hat guy, a hacker, a programmer, etc... they're still going to penalize your "amazing" website if this makes them more money.

Yes, Google rankings have been fluctuating recently due to ongoing algorithm updates.
