I am by no means an 'SEO' guy. Yet, after lurking here a while, I have started to wonder about a possible method for 'powerbombing' google.
Please disabuse my theory.
If I were to have a product (lets say on Amazon) and I wanted Google to rate my product link higher along a particular keyword... then I should be correct in assuming that Google will do so if users are running a search for the keyword and choosing my product link from the list.
With that in mind, what is to stop someone from setting up a 1,000 instance botfarm (anti-detect browser of course) on a rotating proxy and automating the process. 1,000 users (lets say, over the course of an hour), navigating to google, typing in the keyword, searching for the link to my product and clicking it. That is 24k/day traffic. Wouldn't the Google algorithm respond to this?
Please tell me why this would not work.
