The Problem

Fact #1: Put duplicate content on your website and you?ll rank as high as position 1,000,000 in Google.

Fact #3: Publish the same article with the same text and the same backlinks to hundreds of article directories and what do you get? Hundreds of duplicate articles with backlinks that count very little because all the articles sit in the now so-called non-existent supplemental hell of an index.

Fact #4: There are people who hijack your site content and through a proxy server make Google think their copy of your site is actually your site. It?s called proxy hijacking. The result? Your site drops like a rock in the SERPs. Just ask Brad Fallon.

Fact #5: Google?s spider visits your site at a frequency that it calculates from how often your site is updated. Wouldn?t it be nice to get spidered more than once a day?

I think I myself and possibly another business associate may have fallen victim to this.

I would love to know more about this. Any additional links etc to feed my brain would be most welcomed.

I am a little confused here, what does phpspinner have to do with proxy hijacking or whatever it is.

maybe because this post is 4 years old.

Proxy hijacking and getting your site kicked due to someone copying your content does happen sometimes, but Google has gotten MUCH better at detecting the "original" web page in the last several years.

This problem used to be much worse.

The claim from that site that the key to getting good rankings is to place duplicate content on your site is WHACK.

Usually copying content onto your own site is a good way to get de-moted to the supplemental index in Google.

When you submit your website's newsfeeds to RSS directories, you do have to watch out...once in awhile the copy of your article in the feed, as it appears on the RSS directory, will rank higher than the original article on your website. It's always good to have lots of links back to your site in any kind of content that you spread around.

And any articles that you use for article marketing should definitely NOT be copies of content that can be found on your own site.
