Google PR update today

Google had a PR update today. One thing I noticed that some of my sites which I had not updated or for which I had not built any backlinks for last 2-3 years, went from a PR of 3 or 4 to 0. This happened even though the sites had strong do-follow backlinks. So, Google algorithm is getting smarter - and adding content and backlinks regularly is still important.

I noticed some of my sites drop a rank or two... I will confirm the issues later today when I have had some sleep... Anyone have some insight to the changes that they made?
 
i think no matter your pagerank is
the true point is traffic money
 
I expected my forum generator forum to do better , it went from 0 to just 1.
my main website stayed still at just pr3 (it dropped from pr 4 a couple of years ago and hasnt moved since)
Another website I expected to get a raise in pr has also stayed the same and is sitting at just pr2 despite working hard on getting regular links to it using xrummer and autopligg....?

Still at least none of my sites have dropped in pr (yet).

Anyone know what the most powerful (favoured) kind of links by Google are currently?
 
One of my site, started back in Apr 2009, is now PR 3 :)
 
PR = meaningless.

One of my sites went from 4 to 5. No google traffic at-all.

Another went from 1 to 4. No google traffic at-all.
 
My site went from PR3 to PR5 then dropped down to PR4. I've been trying to figure out how it dropped since it stayed at PR4 for some time now.
 
PR is useless. My traffic doesn't change. In the end, profits all that counts.
 
Yes money is what matter and rankings in the serps are more important than PR but I wouldn't rule PR out altogether.

It still has some value to the webmaster - although significantly less than it once did.
 
PR is a numerical measure - it is not the cause but the result. However, I would hope that it was more reflective of a node's importance. My PRs for my sites are all over the place and have literally no correlation to the traffic, income or importance of said sites.
 
PR doesn't mean crap to me. I didn't move up, still at #4. I think PR is just googles way of saying atta boy. My site went from a 0 to 4. I'm more concerned about traffic and monetizing it and as far as I can see, PR does not help me with that.

I have noticed my fellow blackhatters trying to throw some links up though. lol.
 
I think Pr helps you significally. As the higher your rank is the more often your site is indexed. When i had PR0 my site was indexed once a week. Now with pr5 the changes are more often. As i have a lot of content that counts badly for me. Also my ranking on SERPs changes daily. PR is also sweet on your linkbuilding. Some webmasters declined my offer 2 months ago , now they send emails to put a link to them. When they have a lower ranking is ask them to put me on their first page(also important with good pr blogs) and i give them a similar PR page on my site.
 
I wish it did mean something. i have a decent pr but cant find my site for my keywords lol.
 
yea..PR is pretty much worthless unless your selling links
