Google Places

I have encountered a problem. When trying to submit to Google a new business listing I am either getting them to never display, or they do and are gone within weeks. My question is...does google look at my city that I am submitting from and since I am not in the cities that I am saying the business is in...it is recognizing that and shooting them down?

So, basically the question is, Does my IP address need to show that I am in the city that I am trying to submit the business listing for?

That shouldn't matter since many people do this for clients from different locations.

My first guess is that maybe you are violating some of Google's submission rules. They are very different from the advertising rules. If you are trying to heavily use keywords and stuff the keywords and location in places that they shouldn't be, Google won't allow it.

If you treat Places like a normal SEO project you will fail every time.

Just my opinion, who REALLY know why Google does what it does??

Tell us exaxt;y what you're putting in.I do places and ,well,I'm quite good at it.
The more detail you give(no need for real city) the better we\I can help you.
I'm guessing you're spamming the categories.

if you are putting a new listing, they need to verify it by mail so if you put an address different that the business, you will get the piece of mail there... and like they say, google places listings are very strict when it comes to over stuffing it with keywords etc.. my business is ranked in different cities near by for gplaces... you have to put the keywords but not in a spammy way

My company contracts out work in other cities....so, spamming, not really, just trying to overcome the hurdles google puts up. As far as keywords ( I guess you mean categories ). I only list two. Would like to put locksmith but have heard that is a red flag for google.

I am looking for a google places expert. Willing to work out a deal for results!
