Hello,

I am the new guy here, been a lurker for a while, I study all aspects of seo as a hobby, and have become very good at at, there is a few things I have not yet concentrated my time on, and 1 being Google places.

Im trying to rank for Houston with one of my sites, but being the registered address is in sugar land, Im having a hard time getting into Houston, From what ive heard, if I register another listing with a Houston address, google can penalize both account, ( not to sure how true this is )

So im asking here, I can post a link to the maps page im trying to rank for, let me know if that is needed, I have done some searching but have yet to find anything.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Go find yourself a copy of the Google Maps Cash information in the downloads section. That should have every single bit of information you need and a little bit more. It helped me out enormously!

I definitely will look that up, thank you

Google used to let you have as many ads as you wanted... but now they will penalize you for having multiple listings. If you are a outer city looking to place for a main city, your google local will be hard to get that. Focus on dominating your city...and then use On page SEO to rank for houston.

Tip that use to work as well - Use Houston in your places Title. It may help but now google has caught on to people using keywords in their listings.

Good luck and use the above advice! Get that Google Places report!

Will DO! Thank you,

I have already dominated Sugar Land, and Organically have dominated google for houston, only thing i lack is the places page.

While I come up for certain zip codes in houston, I dont come up in places with the term Houston

Organically thought, Im dominating with 3 sites in top three. Wo0t Wo0t

Thank you
