I am a noob and want to get some information on google places SEO. I am doing this for a plumbing company that needs to be rank one in the city they are located. Any information or help would be great. You can PM me and we can talk over Skype. I am capable of doing the work I just need the information on how to do it. *edit* - Skype name = chad.anthony.lozano , I cant PM because I don't have 15 posts. ><

What I do know:

1. Places ranks you based on good and bad reviews.
2. Rank based on how well your place is constructed (pictures, videos and fully detailed places page.
3. Location is also a factor.
4. It takes reviews from other sites like yelp and dexknows and puts them in the "more reviews" column.

They are currently at the letter "H" which is 8th in their local search.

One of the best breakdowns I have found for Google places is on David Mihm's site, I'd toss you a link, but still being a new member to the forums no links for me! A quick Google search of his name will bring you to his site and then just go to the "Local Search Ranking Factors" page for a ton of info.

You can normally find this information updated a time or two a year and it's based on a huge amount of feedback from industry experts. If you're also working at your organic ranking for the website, the good news is that Google just recently announced at the end of February that they are putting more emphasis on your organic ranking when determining your placement on the map.

I hope this helps, maps can be a bit of a tricky beast at times.

Templbi is right, and looks like he know whats going on. and in the right order.

thought I was the only one, lol.
hit me up for review packages if needed..
gotta an ace in my pocket!

anyway.
usually what i dob is,
build, input content, Do seo, get the reviews,
and do one or two pr releases and now putting three images on pinterest
for the authorty backlink along with 5 face book mentions. just to start.
I dont do you tube, but focus on authority links for the first two weeks and try to get at least 60 mixed backlinks
so it looks natural and spaced out.

Hey Ask your dad if he wants 702-35pizza

It is laughlin phone number but same area code. I got into squatting on phone numbers when VoIp came around. I`ll sell or trade it for a wicked low price to you.... BHW love.

Can you elaborate on authority backlinks. Also what type of backlinks do you think have the greatest impact? Also you backlink to the places page or the domain name of the company or even other citations. Didnt know if you could blast the other citations and then it would act as a buffer? Any advise guys?
