Google Places Optimization/Ranking

I have had hit and miss with the phone verification. I did 22 listings the other day and all but 2 were ok using a phone. I had a lawyer and a oral surgeon that had to both be done by post card.

Ultimately I think it will be way too much for them not to continue to use phone verification, but it is annoying when they change things like this since the process is annoying to begin with.

Sry but how the hell have you gotten 22 clients within 1 day? Mind sharing that method?

In regards to the keywords you're ranking for: Are you ranking for those keywords by using offsite SEO targeting those keywords, keyword stuffing in the listing, or some other method?

I'm ranking well for a few KWs of my gplaces listing but looking for others.. thanks in advance

For the GP experiment I'm doing..
what I do is a keyword research for my GP theme...
which is basically referencing local businesses on
g00gle maps g00gle places... etc...

I found out you have 80 characters you can use in your GP title...

This is a g00gle translation of my GP title:
nameofGP - SEO - website on the internet local search and natural...
sounds a bit retarded because of the translation...

so what's happening is that since my site is new and the articles
I'm adding haven't been cached yet so it seems they're
1st using the GP title for returning results
2nd is probably whats in your categories
3rd is probably the description and anything else in your GP they can use
4th and finally once you're site is crawled and cached the keyword rich
titles of the posts on your site will be used...

it seems that my stuffed GP title is why I'm coming up above aged domains for now...

this is not a lazy experiment ...
I'm putting up a sh!t load of keywod titled pages/posts
and I'm just starting to see my permalink pages/posts showing up now

so when I do a local search using these SEO theme keywords I'm coming up
top 3 and it seems to be getting better, even above other well established
web agencies...
I'm using a free w0rdpress.c0m site ...lol
setup using static pages with well searched keywords as their title...
I also setup a static page called /blog/
where all posts go... seems that g00gle luvs these keyword rich titled
posts

on Bing I'm no1 and 2 for some competitive g00gle maps/places optimization terms

it also seems that yah00 has black listed my GP consulting theme site


the reason I'm doing this is when I approach new client and say type in any
city within a 100/150km radius with obvious g00gle seo terms
I'm spanking the 1st place "with a map" in natural results now too
and just to show off I coming up no1 with a map in natural results for "g00gle" + city + zip

anyone notice the last 4 days in most cities no more phone verification its POSTCARD ONLY !!!!

yeah they just started here in france too,
I guess if the clients didn't know that before
it was instantaneous they wouldn't see the difference...
maybe use this time getting citations so when they go live
they'll jump into the 7 box ... hopefully

This may seem like a stupid question but if a client is listed already and has just not claimed their place how do you sell them? In their eyes they are already listed so they see no need to pay. I have tried to explain to them it could get snatched from them but that doesn't seem to work.

if you take pizzas or real estate agencies for instance
just go to the 2nd or 3rd page (if there's that many)
and propose them the 1st page...

and when the doubters get bumped
ask them if they want to get their 1st page back
or just hit another sectors 2nd or 3rd page...
