Google Places - Help please - Company Moved, Listing Gone Crazy

to start....i searched all over, cannot find any advice on this
here's the issue...(i've actually had 3 clients that had this problem)
Company has Address A for a few years, hires someone else to create their website, do seo etc....
years later, they move, google still wont change the address
when the address gets changed in google places, it just creates a new listing, leaving the old one as it is.
but it gets worse
the old listing (with the incorrect address), is the one that keeps the reviews, comments, pictures, stars, and videos
the new listing stays naked.

here's what i've tried
i've tried Changing the address in google places, waited for the client to get the pin, had them put in the pin and the result is as above.
i've tried contacting google support about this, nothing got fixed.

what do i do next? anyone got any ideas?

i'm considering deleting the old ones and just starting fresh.

had the same issues google places is peace of shit service that sync with other directories
my old listing got sync over and over from place i total forget about
even try to do adwords so i can speak with a rep. but he did not know what to do
try report the location as closed and build your new one

the only way to get around it seems to go on a mad llinking session it worked for me yer the google places went up and down quite a bit but after a few month it has well settled and a lot better.

did you spread the citation or just link to the google places page?
i already spread 2-3k citations around for the correct address for one of these

no i just linked and linked like crazy so that the new address killed of the new one the old one was still there as well im about to do the same again and changing address again so the same method should work again for me hopefully
