Google Places - Blackhat Ideas?

At the top of some search results Google Places results are shown.
Even though I am in page 1 with an organic search result I never show in the Google Places list.

Does anyone have any techniques they have used successfully to either optimise their Google Places page to get better results or used off-site techniques such as scrapebox blasting the Google Places page?

Google places works a bit different.You need citation from business listings,wich works exactly like backlinks.

What do you mean by citation? I already have a business listing attached to my 'bricks and mortar' business; it is just not showing up highly enough and I want to give it a boost.

You need to list your business with as many business listing and reviews sites as you can... like merchant circle, yelp, yellow pages, etc. And yahoo and bing if you haven't already. You also want to make sure your listings are optimized for your keywords. Also you can create a few simple videos and have them put on youtube with your business name and contact info in the description. There is a lot that goes into g places seo, it is just like the work that goes into seo on a website. You need both on-site and off-site seo.

There's definitely some shares on this forum on how to get listed in google places. I'm pretty sure there's a few WSO's on it.
