    Hi everyone,

haven't been on for a little while as very hard working sites but thought would put something across whilst asking a question too!

I have many websites which all but one have been unharmed with the Penguin even though the exact same link building methods (multi tiered using a wide range of links) have been used.

My main website was page 1 for the last 2-3 months for a very competitive niche.

Anyway I built a wordpress blog based on the same keywords as the very competitive niche site in November and back linked it until January, as a result it went all the way to page 2 and 3 and gained pr1 in the process, this site had 2 on page posts nothing else, i was trying to prove I could rank low content wordpress blogs compared with my main site which has loads of seo friendly content.

On the 24th I decided to 301 redirect the pr1 as it was still page 2 and 3 didn't move alot and thought my main site on page 1 could benefit from it's position and pr seeing as they were based on the same niche and keywords.

The next day my main site jumped down 2-3 pages for all keyterms whilst the pr1 301 moved up (obviously Google had still not deindexed it).

My question to everyone is why still today is my main site down on pages 3 and 4 whilst the redirected (still indexed) site is rising?

Is it a coincidence timing wise that I did a redirect the same day penguin seemed to be emerging or is the 301 settling and that is why my main site has been pushed down? Will my main site once the 301 site has deindexed go back to where it was?

As I said all my other sites with the same link building have remained unchanged.

Be awesome to hear from anyone with similar experiences.

    Delboy
