Hey all,

Anyone know of any specific way to measure if a site has been penalised/sandboxed.

I've been using the exact same backlinking method on three sites for about a year. All were performing perfect, straight to page one, high rankings.

Then around December one of the sites dropped out of google like a stone. Nothing I have done has changed. The others remain perfectly in check.

Any tool to check blacklisting/sandboxing?

use any serp tracker. I will recommend seo serp (chrome extension). It generates accurate results. you can also search in G search engine: site:mydomain.com (change the mydomain with your domain). If it appears it not yet sandbox
 
Thanks, I can still see the site in G SERP results, it's just from page one, position 1 or 2 for the keywords, down to page 20 and the like...

have same problem today, after lots of link building!

Lets hope its only because Google recalculating your sites....
 
Smells like a penalty... I have noticed that these penalties (drops in SERPs) are removed after some time... This is what's going on with my sites
 
check, whether your backlinks was removed.

Sudden removal of huge backlinks could cause some serious damage...

you can check it using ahref or majestic seo.
 
Check whether you site is still in Google with operator "site:websitename".

Around that same time as your drop I had a site totally doped out of the rankings. A few days later the traffic from Google reached 0 (for a very high traffic site). The site wasn't ranking even for it's name. Then I check with the above method and saw that the site totally dissipated from Google. It wasn't even in it's index.
 
Putting site in front on your domain doesn't prove if it has been sandboxed. This will only tell if your site has been de-indexed. Being sandboxed is when your site is indexed but doesn't appear in the search engine for your keyword. Trust me I know because my Weight loss site has been sandboxed for some time lol
 
just check your actuall keyword rankings....and you will understand it immediately!
 
Keyword rankings it the only way. Check for a huge traffic drop in Analytics and track the keywords that lost their ranks.
 
Sign up a Google Webmaster tools account with the website. It will tell you about penalties.
 
You will know when you have a penalty, your traffic and SERP either vanish or get set back to the 5th page or back. What kind of issue your having is another question.
 
Yeah I boycotted webmaster tools for a while but I use it now so I can tell if I've been slammed for one reason or another.
 
You could try stripping your site down to get rid of any onpage seo that might be affecting the site, if that doesn't work then you must have something off site that's causing issues for your site.
