Google Panda Update in Next 7-10 Days

As long as you have some good content then really I do not see a problem

The serps have been very funny this month. I have seen very very weird movements. Shit goes up and then shit goes down.

Panda update is more of a filter than a on going thing. It is carried out periodically to penalize new sites with thin content and de-penalize the one's that have improved theirs. Lets hope I recover on some of my fallen sites.

Brace yourself homies !

Panda being a filter is what makes it quite nerve-wracking. If you get bitten this month, then you have to wait a whole new month before you'll start to see an improvement! Frustrating.

I was watching a series on abalone divers the other night.

These guys scuba dive in icy cold, shark infested, cloudy waters in South Australia.
Becoming dinner for a Great White Shark is a very real possibility for them.

I think of these guys whenever I read one of these panda/penguin/EMD horror threads.

It just reminds me that while our chosen field may be stressful - it's still a damn easy way to make a living, and even when everything goes wrong................................... AT LEAST YOU'RE NOT GONNA END UP AS SHARK SHIT.

I haven't seen any major changes, but one site in particular has gone up drastically for over 60 keywords, which is strange considering I didn't do anything at all.

I agree with dude91 on this. There are some very unpredictable serps thus month. For some terms I can find more relevant sites on bing or Yahoo. I'm hopping thatanother update will smooth things out a little bit. Unless of course googles plan is to lower their quality to a point that we all have to start buying adwords!

LOL, isn't that what they've been doing for the last year?

Just to refresh everyone's memory on EXACTLY what Panda is:

Google Panda is a change to the Google's search results ranking algorithm that was first released in February 2011. The change aimed to lower the rank of "low-quality sites" or "thin sites", and return higher-quality sites near the top of the search results. CNET reported a surge in the rankings of news websites and social networking sites, and a drop in rankings for sites containing large amounts of advertising. This change reportedly affected the rankings of almost 12 percent of all search results. Soon after the Panda rollout, many websites, including Google's webmaster forum, became filled with complaints of scrapers/copyright infringers getting better rankings than sites with original content.

survival of the fittest, this will show who's doing good at their job :D

I am actually embracing these type of updates, sites with real quality content will always have benefits from these updates IMO - sites that are build especially for keyword optimisation and low or no content will get penalised but isn't that a great thing?

If I search in Google I want to see relevant and quality content and I don't want to browse through several sites with click-through links.

Panda... penguin... penthouse... whatever! Just do your BH on YT. G never penalizes it ;)

I seem to have been caught in the November 19th filter. The site in question was in the top 20 for all keywords now not found in the top 1000. After doing some analysis, the site's index page had 100+ dup content entries found on copy scape.

I'll be trying a few techniques to combat the penalty. Maybe, if it works I'll update the thread.
